Day 1: Introduction

I stand 6 feet tall and weigh 250 pounds. My goal is to lose 50 pounds before my 31st birthday (April 29, 2012). I want to be strong and healthy.


It’s 12:30 in the afternoon and so far I’ve ate one slice of dry wheat toast, a medium sized apple and a 20 oz can of Dole pineapple chunks.

Slice of wheat bread is 90 calories, 10 from fat.

The pineapple chunks are 70 calories per serving, 0 from fat x 4.5 servings = 315 calories.

The medium sized Fuji apple is about 100 calories, 0 from fat.

So I’ve only consumed about 500 calories this morning. I still have not exercised but I’m about to walk the kids to the park to ride their bikes and play some soccer.

We spent about an hour and a half at the park today, playing soccer, football and riding bikes. Well the kids rode their bikes while I supervised. My little girl has yet to learn to peddle so I spent most of the time hunched over her and pushing her around.

It’s really hot out today. I’m sweaty, my back is aching and I’m getting hungry. When we get home I lock up the bikes in the garage, put the kids in a cold bath and sit down in front of my laptop and Vornado fan to start blogging. I make myself a bowl of cereal for lunch.

1 cup of Honey Bunches of Oats is 170 calories, 20 from fat.

1 cup of Skim Milk is 90 calories, 0 from fat.

So for lunch today it’s 260 calories added to the 500 calories from this morning for a total of 760 calories.
